Grant grew up on the Olympic Peninsula and studied English Literature & Philosophy at the University of Washington. After living in Seattle for 12 years, he left the city in search of a better tree to people ratio, and found it on the family farm in Shelton.
Grant started farming because he couldn't find the quality of meat he wanted to eat in the grocery stores. Meat from animals raised outside on pastures in sustainable ways. He raised his first batch of 12 meat chickens in 2017 and hasn't looked back.
Lindsay moved to Hungry Hollow in 2022. While her main professional pursuit is helping authors get book deals as an editor and publishing consultant, she has become increasingly involved in the farm over the years by virtue of living here.
Chelsea began nurturing animals here at Hungry Hollow in 2022. In addition to daily farm work, she also plays an integral role on our chicken processing crew.
James has been a fantastic contributor on our chicken processing team since 2021. He also helps out with various farm tasks, including building our increasingly sophisticated mobile chicken shelters.
