Salt Blade sources 100% of their pork and beef from Olsen Farms in Colville, WA. The Olsen family raises heritage breed pigs on deep bedding with a large open area for feeding and wallowing. Their feed consists largely of barley that is grown by a neighboring farm. Cattle are Angus breed, grass-fed and grass-finished with the exception of supplemental potato treats from their fields. By feeding them their leftover potatoes they are reducing food waste, a shining example of how food systems thrive when crops and animals are integrated!
